The Marshall Chess Foundation presents “The King's Gambit”, a musical/chess performance by Guido van der Werve, accompanied by a 9-piece string orchestra.Mr. van der Werve will perform his piece, using a specifically built chess table, which functions as a mechanical piano. When the chess pieces are moved, the piano will sound the crucial notes throughout the performance.
Mr. van der Werve’s works have been performed in such places as the Tate Modern in London, MoMa in New York, and the National Centre for Contemporary Art in Moscow.
