International master Ilye Figler [pictured] has passed away from cancer.
On a related note, I will be substituting for IM Farai Mandizha tomorrow in the chess class at the Museum of Russian Art, on behalf of 101 Discoveries.
Farai will be attending the funeral for Ilye who was his fellow chess coach at Hunter College Campus Schools.
